Speaking for over 500 employees and 3500 students, I am proud to serve as your community's superintendent of schools. We exist to serve the best interests of our students and our community, and we want to invite you to be a part of us. No school system can be a success without the support and faith of our parents, businesses, churches, community officials, and civic organizations.

Special Recognition

SCHOOL BOARD RECOGNIZES
HENDERSON MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT

On behalf of the Butts County Board of Education, Superintendent Robert Costley presented Henderson Middle School student, Anthony Pacchioli, with a "Shining Star" certificate at the January 2, 2012 School Board Meeting. Anthony competed with over 170 other middle school trumpet players in District 4 and was chosen as 6th chair in District 4 Honor Band. Anthony will be competing for a chair in the All State Band with students from across the State of Georgia in March 2012.

REVISED 2011-2012 SCHOOL YEAR CALENDAR

The Butts County Board of Education voted to revise the 2011-2012 School Year Calendar at the September 21, 2011 School Board Meeting. The changes are as follows:

January 2, 2012 - Student Holiday/Teacher In-service Day
March 16, 2012 - School Day for Students and all staff.
